Community Makes Success Possible

This is not the first Ghost fansite or project, nor will it probably be the last. Over the course of my research I have found so many other fansites and blogs that began with the goal of logging everything, but even years after these intrepid scholars have started their site, they are only a few items in.

It is sad to find your path littered with so many bones of the questers who have gone before. If I were a less stubborn person, I might think myself doomed to fail.

But I think I have something others do not. I have a community. I do not have to chase down every missing interview or concert clip myself, my friends have already started doing that! And I have the work of those who came before. Though they may not have finished their lofty goals (yet), their work makes my load lighter.

So I am determined to bring this site over the finish line (or really, several finish lines I’ve set for myself). Because I am not the first and because I am not alone.

Many thanks to all my fellow fans whose work has informed this fansite! I hope I see you all in hell ♥

www.setlist.fm - a website where you can find the setlist for many concerts! I used all the entries for Ghost as a starting point. Bascally, you gotta know there was a ritual to beable to find there is information about a ritual

www.concertarchives.org - similar to setlist.fm, but sometimes contains a little more information like who was opening or other bands on the guestlist

slavghoul's tumblr - if you've been in the Ghost fandom for any appreicable amount of time and had an interest in reading/listening/watching interviews, you've probably come across slavghoul already! One of the most informative corners of the fandom and I always appreciate their measured thought on many of the more contraversial topics or correction of misinformation that gets a little wild

s_g - YouTube - slavghoul's YouTube channel with translated interviews and more!

r/Ghostbc Wiki - Ghost Wiki maintained by the reddit mods. It's a great place to start with learning about Ghost!

Ghostpedia - Ghost fanwiki - another fanwiki with a good overview of Ghost. Way more ads than the reddit one though so maybe turn on that blocker before clicking the link

PrettiestHateMachine - YouTube - YouTube channel that has compiled playlists of videos of concerts from each Ghost era. Play lists are in order the ritual were performed and absolutly the source I used to put together the shorter playlists used on this site

Drowned Boy Productions - YouTube - YouTube channel that covers information about masks of all kinds! Great details about the different Papa masks and reviews of the commercially available ones

r/Ghost_Lawsuit - I have no intention in covering this on my site. I'm doing this for fun and I like to write like the Ghost Ministry is a real entity. The lawsuit breaks that suspension of disbelief. However, it happened and people want to know about it. This is the best source, in my opinion, for learning more. Translations of court documents and writings first hand from the time when it was happening.

A Ghoul Archivist - An archive project started by an archivist ghoul. Another great starting point for research! I used a reverse image search on a lot of the concert posters they have recovered and posted to find more information.

The Clergy Library - Another archive project started by Mother Emeritus. An excellent source for interviews and magazine articles

The Clergy Archives - Another archive project! This one started by a librarian ghoul.

Ghost | Official Site - the official website for the band. Best place to go for news, tour updates, and any other of the silly fun stuff beyond the music the band does, like the game Escape the Ministry! When I first got into Ghost, I visited the site everyday for like, two months. Don't forget to sign up for the mailing list while you're there to get early notification of new tours and album drops as well as the early access pre-sale codes when tickets go on sale.

Ghost - YouTube - the official YouTube channel for Ghost. Here is where you'll find official music videos, lyric videos, and what the fandom affectionatly calls 'lore videos' which are little acted shorts about life around the ministry. It was one of these longer videos titled Metal Myths: Ghost Pt. 2 that inspires the p.o.v. I take writing for this site.

Special Thanks To:

@Vermillion △, Ghost Fan Archivist - if you could get a phd in Ghost, Verm would be the one teaching the course

@EveFoundHere, Ghost Fan Archivist - thank you so much for sharing your list of interviews! It is so helpful for lining them up with ritual dates

@BritannicEnthusiast, Mask Expert - They know so much about the Papa masks and corrected me on a lot of misinformation (with sources)! Someday I'm going to add a section about the masks just because there is a lot of incorrect info circulating about them being taken as fact. They also influenced the careful noting of sources for all the information I put up!
